Ninjah!

Welcome to the Ninjah microsite!

MAPS: Plenty of 'em! - 19/08/07
Thanks again to everyone who has submitted maps! Props to Raelz who has made me aware of many bugs that needed/need fixing (I'll try to get on to that soon ;). Be sure to check Josh Buczynski's Jungle Swing, tis a lil bit special!
-Chris

WOOPS: -18/08/07
Just a quick apology for not sorting through a few bugs that need fixing as well as a huge stack of maps! It's taken some time to get used to the fact I'm not a student anymore ;) I'll do my best to sort out as many packs as possible tomorrow! (77 to check, though I'm not sure how many are actual packs, I still get quite a few dud uploads).
-Chris

UPDATE: v1.03 - 04/08/07
The ‘next’ button working properly for custom level packs
Included a music track that had been left out (for a discarded extra game mode)
Packname cropping for pack select box
Sorting some missing key names for the key select screen.
Sorting some wierd ghost/player issues related to restarting (thank you Adam)
Confirmation before clearing a level in the editor

MAPS: 03/08/2007 - New map packs
Sorry for the delay but I've managed to verify the next batch of maps, thank you to all who submitted!
Blah Man you submitted a map called rope adventures, it looks interesting enough, but I'm not convinced it's actually possible to complete (if it is, i'd like to see the replay, thanks!).
Fuller - Really liking your pack, thank you! Level 3 is TOUGH and map 5 of your pack is awesome, nicely done :D
Eric and Konrad - Wow, really good effort, I love how the level packs tell a story (same goes for Fullers pack too) and even with a limited resolution you've created some pretty damn good graphics too!
Thanks also to Kai and Javet for submitting maps! While I am happy to accept all legit maps, what I think I'll do from now on is compile individual maps into packs to save people having to download lots (don't worry, I'll still credit all who make a map!)

UPDATE: 02/08/2007 - Linux v1.02L
Sorted an unnecessary reference to libfmod as well as proper key names in the key select menu. Download below!

Also there are quite a few map packs waiting to be verified, I'm a bit busy tonight but will try to sort them out tomorrow, thanks again!!!

UPDATE: 31/07/2007 - Linux version released!
Just finished compiling a version for Linux, check the downloads section! I have had to disable the music for now (but it's still included if you wanna check it out with a music module player).

I've got a couple of updates to release for the windows version but I'm waiting to see if anything else turns up in the next week before I upload it. It's nothing major really and shouldn't really affect anything. Thanks to BDR for finding a few bugs for me as well as submitting a map pack!
-Chris

UPDATE: 30/07/2007 - First map packs!
Thanks to Dr.Melon, Infamous, Jared and LFF for submitting map packs! A good mixture simple but clever levels, as well as some brilliant challenging efforts (especially you Infamous!).

There were actually lots of submitted efforts but these were the only ones that appeared to be valid. If you tried to submit and your work hasn't shown up, please try again. Ta!

UPDATE: 29/07/2007 - New version released
Thanks to everyone who downloaded Ninjah and special thanks to anyone who has submitted levels. I probably should have made it a bit more clear, but before submitting levels, can you make sure the desired pack is selected, I've had alot of people attempt to submit a 'base' pack which won't actually contain any levels! (I've updated the game to disable accidentally submitting the base pack. The new version also sorts a few other issues that you can see further down this page.

I'll do my best to validate the level packs that have been submitted tomorrow, thanks again!
-Chris

Ninjah is a fast paced action-puzzler. The general idea is to get from A to B as quickly as possible with the help of your trusty, if not slightly elastic, ninja rope and your ability to err.... go into slow motion. However, there is a snag. You may only come into contact with blocks the same colour as your belt or you die (for some well explained and thorough reason!). To help combat this strange allergic reaction to the evil, evil blocks, you can change the colour of your belt by hitting the corresponding checkered blocks.

E.G....
Above, you can see the little ninja guy has hit the green checkered changer block, this means he can now safely hit the standard green block just up ahead. It sound's simple enough but the game can get pretty complicated (hopefully not frustratingly so)!

The level editor used to make the levels has been included with the game, so go crazy and make your own!

Ninjah v1.03 (2.7mb) - 98/Windows 2000/XP/Vista - No Installer
Just unzip it and run Ninjah.exe!

Ninjah v1.02L (2.7mb) - Linux - No Installer
Compiled using Edgy Eft Ubuntu - yeah I know, can't be arsed to upgrade ;)

Ninjah comes with it's own editor that (I am hoping) will allow you lot to make your own level packs. Once you've made a few levels you are happy with, from within Ninjah, go to the options menu, highlight the pack you want to load from the file list and click the upload button. This will automatically upload your level pack where it will be verified (by a low life human, so it might take a while) and then added to the list below. Don't worry if you only have a few levels to submit, all will be considered (as long as they're not offensive).

To install a downloaded level pack - extract the zip file to the 'Data\Packs\' directory where you installed Ninjah. (e.g. C:\games\ninjah\data\packs\ )
